There’s a special place, waiting just for you. Is a special place where your dreams all come true. Fly away, swim the ocean blue, drive that open road, leave the past behind you…

Some of you may remember I posted a collection of reflections back in September in the name of For Your Story which dealt with my reaction to the passing away of Charley. A very lovely friend of mine, Yara, drew a front cover for it (above), signifying the single path which in its continuation leads to life and ultimately to death. Is death not a part of life, just as the two sides of the tree are still part of the same tree? It is an amazing drawing and I would like to express my heartfelt thanks to her for sparing some of her time to make this drawing.

I’d also like to thank Hijabi Hippie Hypo for awarding me the versatile blogger award. There were some conditions to go along with the award, and as I have already made it once, you can view it here. It is also her blog’s 1st anniversary today and so a very very happy birthday HHH! You all should pay her a visit (click here).

In other news, I was requested by a reader who wished to remain anonymous, that I should start a medical blog. What do you guys think? If you’re going to give me thumbs up is there anything in particular you’d like me to start with?

Yesterday I heard an amazingly thought provoking Khutbah (sermon) on Jumu’ah which I shall share with you soon. Also, I’ve been working on the ‘closet’ post which is self reflective and consists of 2 parts that will be posted in the near future (next week-ish).

That’ all for today because the football is about to start, so I take my leave, and wish you all a very happy weekend. OMG! I’ve missed the first half. NOOOOO Surprised smile

:)

Oh & thumbs up to the medical blog , I can't think of anything off the top of my head other than all these drinks and yoghurts that are "probiotic" and are meant to lower your cholesterol.. my GP said they're all a waste of money & a load of BS.. maybe you could write something about that. s'up to you.

Medical blog, FTW. That way people like me might learn something who spend all day on blogger reading other's posts and less time with their boring 10 anatomy books.

I have CVS module up next. Do some posts on that.

  6. Gelovsky Says:

I have nothing to say for now, but I'm really looking forward for your next post.

  18. Kamila Says:

Sometimes when I visit your blog.. I feel something deep in a sense... I don't know why.. but that's what I feel.. love the drawing and it's meaning a path... to life and death...

if you want to make a medical blog well I can support you on that....

  19. Anonymous Says:

    Nas... :)

That's a lovely drawing, indeed.. Very dramatic. This is how I see it. The right side of the tree, it only has branches and no leaves and fruits. It signifies death. The left side is full of healthy leaves, signifying life. Though complete opposites or different on both sides, it still is on ONE tree. In death, we mourn.. but we should also celebrate life. Death is, after all, part of being human. (I'm not sure if we have the same interpretation.. hehehe.. Sorry, I just wanna share my thoughts. ☺)

Anyway, I checked out your "For Your Story" article, and whow... 6 parts? Hehe.. I couldn't possibly read all of those.. but maybe, one at a time, I surely will. Though, I can't right now.. I'm feeling dreadful. *cough It's 'coz of the weather, I think.

So, congratulations on getting the award.. Totally deserve it. I am looking forward to read the post about the sermon. Oh, and about making a medical blog? If you're really up to it, why not, right? GO!!! :)

LOL on missing the first half of the game. Hehe.. also with the "NOOOOO!!!"

    Have a nice day! ☺

  20. Anonymous Says:

    P.S.

Oh, I've seen UP. Also love that movie.. But I don't like to watch it again 'coz it makes me sad. Maybe because, well.. in the movie, Mr. Fredricksen's hero, Charles Muntz, turned out to be the movie's main antagonist. I just don't like the idea. I don't want my heroes to be the bad guys. Heroes always saves the day. Hehe..

Again, have a nice day. :)

  21. Nas Says:

@ Sidrah: :). Awh don't worry! This wont be your average medical blog with lots of long words and 2D-anatomical pictures. But give me a chance, and then let me know what you think ;)

  22. Nas Says:

@ Kamila: Ohhh sounds like a plan! I'll be in touch soon! :)

  23. Nas Says:

@ Leah: You summed it up very nicely! Up is a sad film. It hits me home because the two friends make so many promises, but then the wife dies, and they can't fulfil them together. =/. Thank you!

  24. AcetylCholine Says:

CVS exam in 4 weeks. :p It's extremely long AND difficult. I sat down with the intention to study, opened embryo, counted the pages and slammed it shut out of sheer terror. Ugh.

  25. Nas Says:

@ AcetlyCholine: Yeah, all of it long and Ugh. :P. I'll see what I can do! But you have to promise to read it.

  26. AcetylCholine Says:

    Oh, I shall. I shall. I need to pass, don't I? :P
Come to think of it, I might just give you an award too once I pass CVS while reading about it on your blog. :P
